Wedding Paper Porn

I have a serious paper addiction. I love all things stationery and have a board dedicated to this on Pinterest aptly named "Paper Porn". I'm so thankful for my dear friend Sarah D. who sent this fabulous memory book as an engagement present. I have a place for all of our invitations and paper memories in one place. Stop reading if you aren't a geek for paper.

If you can imagine, I immediately started planning our wedding after our engagement. First on the list was to get an idea from E. what was important to him for "our" wedding. It was seriously the greatest conversation and we both truly wanted the same things. I may have wanted a band and he wanted a DJ. With Mom's huge love of music the band won out in the end and she ended up creating a band from friends she knew. It was the most fun and our family and friends danced the night away.

After weighing all of our wishes we decided Michigan made more sense than getting married in DC, and Kalamazoo made more sense than getting married at the Lake. "Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo" worked for our Save the Date. I found these invites at Petals and Postings on the Kalamazoo Mall.

I really wanted to have a "special event" as it related to paper. This meant that I wanted Escort Cards, cocktail napkins, Place Cards, Table numbers and menu cards. Carolyn and Nick at Just Tea and Paper in Georgetown helped us with all of our paper needs other than the save the date. I just realized that I've basically done this same post two years ago! (The photos are MUCH better too.) There were a few paper pieces I missed, so again, thank you for baring with my wedding memories.

I designed a map for our guests so they could walk everywhere. I'm so proud of this map!!!

It was part of our weekend guide that our out of town guests received upon check-in at the Radisson. We had the full schedule, what to wear and when to show up. You don't really need this because each event should have an invite for the details but I love to have a good plan. I look back at it now and think it was kind of ridiculous but I'm a geek for this kind of stuff and went a little crazy with the planning.

Eric choose the Grand Hotel for our honeymoon with lots of encouragement from me. Thank you sweetheart. The carriage was a perfect icon for our reception card that he approved. I love that we had our party at the KIA where I really flourished as a young artist. There was a Lorna Simpson exhibit that our guests could view before cocktails began. It was a great way for people to kill time while the wedding party took photos. We went against etiquette and added Cocktail Attire on the reception card. I think the more information the better.

We used the same carriage on our place cards and menus cards. Mom even found beach towels for us from the Grand Hotel as a gift with the same carriage logo.

Jean let me help design our rehearsal dinner invites! How wonderful for my mother-in-law to let me choose what we loved.

I found round labels at the Paper Source and loved using multiple stamps for this invite.

I had extra labels and used them as a DIY table number project. I asked Mom to be on the lookout for votive candles. We went to Big Lots and found a ton of large votives for next to nothing. I had extra labels left over and realized it would be cute to print the table number on each label and stick them on the votives. You can just make out the six votives on our table.

Clearly I'm in love with paper if I've already posted these details on this blog! Mom thought I was crazy for all of the paper details but I still back and love that we went for it. We just received a gorgeous wedding invite in the mail today (Can't wait KT!). I get so excited about how people "brand" their wedding. Mac and Elise's invite was so pretty with her signature pink flowers as a border. What you choose for your invite sets the mood for the event. Don't you just love weddings? Thank you Momma again for your amazing love and help with all of our wedding details. The band really was the best, best ever!!!
