The meaning of Christmas

I love this movie because Linus quotes the Bible. Luke 2:8-14. As I struggle to keep positive and trudge through the busy week before Christmas I'm trying to hold on to the real meaning of Christmas.

This is a song we blast on Christmas morning. Momma is a huge country music fan and listening to it gives me goosebumps and giggles. Ha! Look at those good ole boys. Hilarious. I need to keep listening to it this week to help prepare me for such a wonderful birthday party!

Momma, I'm glad you were country before country was cool. Thanks for making Christmas mornings so awesome!

This is seriously so bizarre...just yesterday i said those same words, "country before country was cool" because a co-worker and I were talking about the Mandrell Sisters - remember them?

Since you mentioned The Oak Ridge Boys, I'm going to be singing this all day:
Giddy up, oom poppa, omm poppa, mow mow, heigh-ho Silver, away

Mom took us to see the Mandrell Sister's when we were little. I most definitely remember them. :) And my first concerts ever were Alabama, Kenny Rogers and Tina Turner. Funny mix, but all awesome! The ORB Christmas album is seriously so much fun if you don't already have it!!!

Now I have to go find the album! Can't wait to see you both!

My kids watched A Charlie Brown Christmas during one of their recent snow days and when I heard Linus speaking, I came in from the kitchen to watch. I love that scene. It's the reason for the season. :)

What a coincidence!I read this post yesterday and saw that Charlie Brown film twice to understand the language because it was the first time for me. But just an hour ago they sent the whole film on Swedish TV and I saw it together with my children.(I know Charlie Brown but haven't seen that Christmas film)
