He Is Risen!

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We went to the Easter Vigil tonight at the Cathedral and Hymn 335 moved me to the point of tears. This song has always been a favorite of mine and I hope my family will play it at my funeral one day. There is so much hope in these words and the promise of the resurrection.

I am the Bread of life,
He who comes to Me shall not hunger,
He who believes in Me shall not thirst.
No one can come to Me
Unless the Father draw him.

And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up on the last day.

The bread that I will give
Is My flesh for the life of the world,
And he who eats of this bread,
He shall live for ever,
He shall live for ever.

And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up on the last day.

Unless you eat
Of the flesh of the Son of Man
And drink of His blood,
And drink of His blood,
You shall not have life within you.

And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up on the last day.

I am the Resurrection,
I am the Life,
They who believes in Me
Even if they die,
They shall live for ever.

And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up on the last day.

Yes, Lord, we believe
That You are the Christ,
The Son of God
Who has come
Into the world.

And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up,
And I will raise him up on the last day.

Our hearts are broken remembering the sad passing of my Uncle George last Easter. These lyrics remind me the promise that he is in heaven with our Lord. "I am the resurrection, I am the life. They who believe in me, even if they die, they shall live forever."

What Kaye said!!!

My favourite hymn is "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" and we sang it with a small chior and violins and brasses!

Thanks sweet Meg. Kaye, is my KTPunks Mommy! We had a brass section at the Easter Vigil as well. It was amazing. Dad and I spoke yesterday and just spoke mainly of the music that was sung, and how good or bad the organist was. We love our hymns in my family.
